Answers to frequently asked questions at a glance

General

The GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON is sold out for runners and we don´t have a waiting list. 

Race entries for running at the GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON are only available through our cooperating tour operators and charity partners. If you are interested, please contact the partner directly.

When you register, you have the possibility to select the product “SuperHalfs passport number” and then to enter your number in the corresponding field.

After you have completed your registration, you can also add your passport number via your user account. Select the GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON under "My registrations" and then add the product "SuperHalfs passport number" to your registration and enter your passport number.

Please note that the selection can not be changed once the registration has been completed. It is not possible to swap or rebook.

No, the race entry is personal and cannot be transferred. Each registered participant may only compete and participate in person. Anyone "running for someone else" is in breach of the General Terms and Conditions for Participation in SCC EVENTS sporting events and risks disqualification.

If you have booked cancellation insurance when registering, you can make use of it in your user account under my registrations -> GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON.

We ask for your understanding that due to the logistical and organizational complexity of the event, participation fees cannot be refunded. You can find detailed information on this in our conditions of participation.

Transfers to another person or another year are not possible. Your race entry is bound to the event and person.

Race Material

The start card will be sent to you automatically by e-mail approx. 7-10 days before the event (please also check your spam/junk folder).
If you have not received an e-mail, you can download your start card yourself via your user account under "My registrations" > GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON.

The race material pick up only takes place at the HALF MARATHON EXPO 2025 at the Messe Berlin (Messedamm 22, 14055 Berlin) during the following opening hours:

Friday, April 4th, 2025: 11 am - 8 pm
Saturday, April 5th, 2025: 9 am - 6.30 pm

On Sunday, April 6th, 2025 race material can not be picked up.

 

  • your start card (will be send to you by e-mail appr. 10 days before the event and will then also be available in your user account)
  • and a photo document (ID card, driver's license, passport)
  • a small bag to carry your bib, safety pins and any products you have booked from the event collection home with you

! Your race material must be collected in person.

No, you have to pick up your race material personally.

The collection of the race material by another person is not possible, not even with a power of attorney! It is also not possible to send you the material.

At the EXPO we will put on your athletes wristband, which is together with your bib number required to be allowed to enter the start & finish area on race day. This will ensure that only registered participants take part in the GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON.

All your pre-bookings will be displayed on your race number.

You will receive pre-ordered adidas event shirts and the BibBits (race number magnets) together with your race pack. The Maurten Race Pack will be waiting for you at the Maurten booth..

These products must be collected at the HALF MARATHON EXPO. Shipping or later collection is not possible.

The poncho, you will receive on race day after your finish in the finish area.

No. Your bib number is personal. It may not be changed or passed on to another person. 

 

Event Day

There are no designated parking facilities. We recommend that you travel by public transport. 

Your bib number is valid as a ticket on the day of the event from 5:00 am to 7:00 pm in the AB fare zone.

The nearest public transportation stops are:
Subway: Friedrichstraße or Unter den Linden (U6), Brandenburger Tor or Bundestag (U5), Potsdamer Platz (U2)
S-Bahn: Hauptbahnhof or Friedrichstraße (S3, S5, S7, S75), Brandenburger Tor oder Friedrichstraße (S1, S2, S25)
Trains: Hauptbahnhof

The following things should not be missing:

  • your personal bib number,
  • your athletes wristband (was put on you at the HALBMARATHON EXPO)
  • For skaters, wheelchair athletes or hand cyclists, helmets are mandatory, further protective clothing is recommended.

The start & finish area is open from 7:30 am.

Runners can only access the start area via the entrance at Platz der Republik. For inline skaters on wheels, access is via the eastern Paul-Löbe-Allee (southern sidewalk).

Handbikers and wheelchair competitors will receive separate information by e-mail.
 

No, the start & finish area is only accessible to officially registered participants. To see you already on the first meters, your relatives can stand directly behind the start in the area designated for visitors.

Clothing can only be dropped off for those participants who have chosen "Clothing drop off" during registration and who have received a transparent bag and label with their bib number at the race material pick. All others will receive a warming poncho at the finish (recognizable by a corresponding symbol on the bib number).

Your personal belongings can only be handed in in the GENERALI BERLINER HALF MARATHON transparent clothing bag as far as they are not on the list for prohibited items. Furthermore, no bags, backpacks or other luggage can be taken into the start & finish area.

Avoid bringing valuables, we are not liable for losses.

The letter on your bib number corresponds to the start block (A-G) that is designated for you.

The allocation is based on your best half marathon time of the last three years or your estimated finish time, which you entered during registration. You can adjust this time in your user account under "My registrations" up to and including March 30, 2025 23:59 CET. Please note that for times below 1:39:00 a proof (certificate / link to the result list) is required.

A change of start block at the HALF MARATHON EXPO is not possible.

It is not possible to rent or buy a helmet on site. Make sure you bring your own helmet.

For inline skating, wheelchair and handbike competitors, helmets are mandatory!

On race day, you can stay warm in the pre-start zone with your hoodies, training jackets etc. and then donate them on site. Place the items over the bars or throw them into the marked containers. The Berliner Stadtmission collects your donations and passes them on to people living on the street.

On the course

  • Any support vehicles (cars, e-scooters, bicycles and motorcycles).
  • Strollers of any kind
  • Animals
  • Roller skates, inline skates, skateboards or other rolling devices are not allowed in the race of the runners

Please note: The international federation World Athletics prohibits the wearing of headphones during running competitions.

On the course allowed are only hydration pack or veste of the following size:

  • back compartment with max 3 liters volume for hydration pack
  • front pockets for water bottles (max 0.5 liters each)
  • front pockets for small items (cell phone, kexs, etc.)

or hydration belts with:

  • compartments for water bottles (max. 0.5 liters each)
  • compartments for small materials (cell phone, keys, etc.)

These refreshment points are on the course:

KM 5: water, tea, Maurten Drink Mix
KM 10.5: water, tea
KM 12: Maurten Gel Depot (no water)
KM 14.5: water, tea, banana
KM 17: water, tea, Maurten Drink Mix, banana

For first aid services at the start / finish area and on the course, the medical team, bicycle doctors, medical aid organizations and patrols of the Berlin Fire Department are there for you. Do not hesitate to contact our staff in case of complaints or pain. This also applies if you notice emergencies among other participants.

For Runners

The time limit is 3:15 hours from crossing the start line.

Participants who have not reached KM 18 by 2:25 pm must leave the official course and continue running on the sidewalk or will be driven to the finish in the broom bus. Please note that you will not receive a result time or medal.

For Inline skater

The time limit for skater is 1:10 hours (net)after passing the start line.

Participants, who reach the Brandenburg Gate after the time limit won't be able to cross the finish line for technical reasons and won't be listed in the results list.

As an inline skater, you are moving fast on your wheels and must react quickly to the situation. Please inform yourself in advance about the danger spots that are displayed on our interactive map (in the legend, the check mark must be placed next for danger spots).

After the finish line

To personalize your medal, there will be an engraving booth in Scheidemannstraße (outside the event area). You are welcome to book this service in advance via your user account. This will be noted accordingly on the start number. The engraving has to be done on the day of the event.

For 16.00 euros, the service can also be used directly at the stand.

Your pre-certificate will be available for you shortly after your finish as a download within the results list. No printed certificates will be handed out on site or send afterwards.

There are sufficient changing and shower facilities in the finish area.

In the finish area, tea, water, ERDINGER non-alcoholic and isotonic drinks as well as fruit will be available for all finishers.

You can arrange to meet your relatives or friends at the family meeting point at Brandenburger Tor/Scheidemannstr. at the sign with the first letter of your last name.

Everyone who successfully completes their SuperHalfs Series in Berlin with their 6th race will receive a special SuperHalfs medal in the finish area.

Opposite to the "Reichstagswiese" is a comprehensive massage service for all participants (free of charge).

Relatives, friends and interested people

You can watch the race from 9:10 am to around 1:00 pm in the live stream on our SCC EVENTS YouTube channel.

The start & finish area and the course are only accessible for officially registered participants. However, you are welcome to cheer on the runners from the areas designated for visitors behind the start and before the finish, as well as along the entire route from the edge of the course.

Tracking is only possible on the day of the event via the results list (under “Your race”). In addition to viewing the live results list and the leaderboard, you can track the run of one or more people there. Simply enter the name or start number in the search. If the participant selected tracking by code, this can only be entered after the start.
