Dear BERLIN MARATHON Jubilee Club member,

Shortly before the end of the year, we are sending you the last Running News

of 2002. The result lists of the 29th real,- BERLIN-MARATHON 2002 have been

sent out and, we hope, received. On pages 186-188, there is a list with all

members of the BERLIN MARATHON Jubilee Club (1,067), including the number of

Berlin Marathons in which they have participated. Roland Winterstein became the

1,000th member of the club, as he ran with his wife through the finish down

Tauentzienstraße. Bernd Hübner is the record-holder, participating

in a total of 29 Berlin Marathons.

We would like to welcome all new members to the club, who are listed by name

in the at-tachment. There are more and more “at least 10 x across the

finish of the BERLIN MARATHON” candi-dates! The current number has thus

risen to 1079 members—and they come from a total of 14 countries.

The year 2003 will be a big anniversary year for SCC-RUNNING:

20 years AVON RUNNING Berlin Women’s Run,

25 years Berlin Team Marathon,

30 years BERLIN-MARATHON and

40 years Berlin Cross Country Race.

We hope that you will be at the birthday event when “your” race

turns 30. We will be changing a few things for the anniversary (reason enough

to be here in 2003). You will be able to find out about these changes soon

either as a surprise in the daily news—or on the internet. If you want to

increase your number of competitions, you need to register quickly, as the race

will be “booked out” soon. The registration forms are in the

booklet of results, and online registration is possible, too.

We wish all members lots of success, good health, and fun running in the

year 2003.
