More than 15,000 women and young girls, of different social classes,
from the age of 12 to 70, replied to the call of Nezha Bidouane,
President of the Association of “Women, Realization and Values”, which
on Sunday (12), organised the first ever women’s race in Temara,
Morocco, to celebrate International Women’s Day.
Following the established charity/ fun run initiatives of other
African greats like 1984 Olympic 400m Hurdles champion Nawal el
Moutawakel, IAAF Council Member, who organizes the annual famous
women’s race “Courir pour le plaisir (run for fun), and double Olympic
Champion, Hicham El Guerrouj, who is the initiator of international
road race “Le foulees internationals de Berkane”, Bidouane has now also
invested her energy into organisation of a sporting festival.
