More than 50,000 participants of the 30th real,- BERLIN MARATHON will be
underway in downtown Berlin on September 27th and 28th. A digital marathon will
be taking place at the same time on the internet: your friends and family at
home can follow all facets of the happenings in Berlin on the last weekend in
September live at www.berlin-marathon.com.
In addition to general information about the course, starting times, and
numbers of participants, as well as current reports throughout the running
weekend, you will also be able to find out all you need to know about the top
athletes of the 30th real,- BERLIN MARATHON.
The (split) times and rankings of the participants can be looked up live. A
graphic simulation, "Live!Tracker", can show the current position of
a single participant, including a prognosis of the expected time at the finish.
Parallel, a participants results can be ordered to be sent to a mobile phone.
Through this service, which will be offered for the 4th time, more than 30,000
SMS are expected to be sent from Berlin.
Following the race, provisional certificates can be printed, and a complete
graphic simulation of the race can be started, in which one can compare ones
own time with those of friends.
A live ticker will report during the race about the developments at the
front of the field. Whoever prefers moving pictures can choose from up to four
video streams at the internet site of RBB Television. In addition, there will
be "Videos On Demand" after the race, in which the highlights of the
race can be seen again.
Also offered: a chat with the experts—parallel to the television
coverage on ARD/RBB. A webcam in the finish area and current photo galleries
round off the photo coverage of the 30th real,- BERLIN-MARATHON 2003.
Starting on Tuesday, September 30, each participant will be able to see his
personal finish on internet video at victorycam.de, and starting on Saturday,
October 4, almost 200,000 photos will be able to be called up at the marathon
partner marathonfoto.com. There, each participant will be able to order his/her
photo, snapped on the course or at the finish.
